Siblings and Our Relationship With Them.
In this workshop we will look at how relationships with our siblings can impact our lives both positively and negatively. With Jungian theory in mind, we will examine how a sibling complex can develop. In gaining an understanding of the complex we can improve our lives/relationships both personally and professionally. In the workshop we will look to poetry, myths and fairytales in order to expand our understanding and of course we will write from these sources.
Saturday, 8th June.
2pm 4pm

The Place of Poetry in your Life

The Road Ahead
Our footprints always follow us on days when it’s been snowing. They always show us where we’ve been, but never where we’re going.–Winnie the Pooh
In this second session of Poetry Through the Seasons ’24, we will reflect on what various challenges we face as we travel on ‘the long brown path’ (Walt Witman). Through the poetry of Mary Oliver, Walt Witman and others, we will consider what we plan to do with our ‘one wild and precious life’, (Mary Oliver) and how we will achieve it.
Saturday, 24th August.
2pm - 4pm
María Ortega García, PTP
Realisations of the heart: haibun
The prose-poetry format of the haibun has been described as the "narrative of an epiphany". In this two-hour session, we are going to explore the stories of yearning and ache lodged in our hearts through different poems and prompts. The haibuns that you will be invited to write will take you on a journey from the narrative to the essence of the story,
